Local Theatre Companies
Merely Players is a theatre company run by former DHS theatre directors, Mona Wood-Patterson and Charles Ford. For their shows, they either rent a theater or do "found space" productions that occur in places like a barn, a bank, or a library. For rehearsals, they use the commons of Animas High School. Sometimes, they offer acting classes through their youth program, the Merely Actletes.

The Durango Arts Center hosts professional DAC productions as well as performances from companies that rent out the theater. A couple times a year, theatre workshops (mini classes taught by professionals) are held there. The DAC Applause! program offers educational theatre classes for youth.
